Winter Walk Week

Wayfinders Winter Walk Challenge

The Wayfinders Winter Walk Challenge is a four‑day initiative designed to encourage students to stay active, spend time outdoors, and build healthy habits during the winter months.

The challenge is open to elementary and senior elementary students in Thunder Bay. Participation can take place during the commute to and from school, and some schools may also plan walks during the school day.

Challenge Dates

February 23 – February 26, 2026

Students may participate on one or all four days. Each day of participation earns one entry into the prize draws, for a maximum of four entries per student.

How the Challenge Works

  • Students complete a short outdoor walk of at least 10 minutes.

  • After the walk, students or their parents/guardians submit a brief online form.

  • Each completed walk becomes an entry for the daily prize draw and the grand prize draw at the end of the week.

Prizes

  • One daily prize winner will be drawn each day.
  • Daily Prize: $25 Indigo gift card
  • A grand prize draw will take place on Friday, February 27, 2026.
  • Grand Prize: One $25 Indigo gift card for the winner and a Pizza Party for the winner’s entire class

 How to Register a Walk

Students will log each walk using a short online form.

The form will request:

  • Student name
  • Class/teacher
  • Date of walk
  • Approximate time spent walking

The registration link will be posted here starting Monday, February 23, 2026, and will also be shared with participating schools.
