Weather and road conditions in specific areas may cause bus delays. Please contact your school bus operator for route details.  Depending on condtions in the rural areas, some roads may not be cleared.  Snow and ice then becomes a factor in service adjustments for these rural roads.

Student Transportation Services of Thunder Bay covers a very large area providing transportation services for Lakehead District School Board, Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board and Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores boreales.The Education Act allows a Board to provide transportation for pupils under certain conditions.

All transportation provided is at the discretion of the Boards. Student Transportation Services of Thunder Bay routes have been designed to provide a balance of safety, and security, bringing students to school on time and ready to learn. Consideration must be given to cost effectiveness and efficiency.

The Boards consider the safety and conduct of students to be of paramount importance. We ask that students, parents, teachers, Principals, operators and drivers cooperate to achieve the common goal of a safe transportation system.
